Hill & Brand Entertainment, in association with SoFAB Media, is producing the feature-film adaptation of KAFFIR BOY, the bestselling autobiography of Mark Mathabane. The film stars Connie Nielsen (GLADIATOR; BOSS), Arnold Vosloo (BLOOD DIAMOND; THE MUMMY), and Lerato Mvelase (LIFE, ABOVE ALL). Philip M. Dobard, SoFAB’s Vice President, Business Development, and Director of SoFAB Media, is one of the film’s producers. Individuals who want to lend their financial support to the project may make a tax-deductible charitable contribution to the production via SoFAB.
In addition to pursuing activities that fulfill its core mission of examining, investigating, and preserving foodways of all races and ethnicities, through exhibits, publishing, and a range of media, SoFAB serves as a critical forum for academics, advocates, and policymakers engaged in the study of problems and solutions to hunger, nutrition, obesity, and whole-person literacy.
SoFAB’s mission and KAFFIR BOY: THERE LIES HOPE, the feature film, intersect at several key points.

Charitable contributors will benefit from both the immediate tax advantage, at the full value of their giving, and the knowledge that their gift supports both the film and SoFAB’s mission. They also enjoy a range of other benefits, as detailed below.
